4-koma wannabe, in that the fantasy setting is just a segway for romcom and has no intrinsic value. Now that wouldn't be a problem in a 4-koma but it is inexcusable in a manga that's trying to build and maintain a compelling story, as whatever is built is devalued by the mangaka's lack of respect for the setting.

@Kaiju Although I don't like how you worded it you're right. They could have just left it as "lived alone for a hundred years" and let the readers make their own assumptions. I'm ashamed to admit that I often self-insert, but even I feel its very unnatural when authors have to stress so hard that this girl is a virgin.
