Forcing things on people is not what loving people do. =_=
I guess these particular versions of these tropes are standard for the era this comes from, but still disappointing.
Makes me not want to root for the person who's going to end up on top in this love triangle, which in turn makes me not want to bother continue reading. No one deserves sexual harassment, and I've never been fond of the whole "oh, he's so forceful and possessive, how exciting!" line of thinking.
