Is it just me that thinks the father's change of heart came way too abruptly? I mean, a few chapters ago he was treating his own daughter as a stepping stone to throw away when used and now he's longing for some contact?

Also, part of me hopes that they at least address the bad guy's points over how the dragon's fights are screwing over humanity and all other third parties in the war, or at the very least realize how their actions ended up creating the monster that almost got them all killed. It's not that I like the guy, but you can kinda understand where he comes from.

I don't think it's a change of heart, so much as he's beginning to understand how his daughter feels, maybe. I don't think this will stop Kanna from living with Kobayashi though.

I think the idea is that he was being manipulated by the wizard, so even though he is an asshole, because of the wizard he was being more of an asshole.

It all feels a bit fast but this isn't an action manga. Fights don't last more than a single chapter. And more importantly Kobayashi is the dragon whisperer, she can tame all Chorogons.

I am bit bummed that Kobayashi doesn't think of herself as a parent to Kanna, but I think I can understand why.
We get a bit of a BadAss Locua, that is cool.
