There is no mistake. Only 3 chapters and nothing more. Just see it on the pixiv mangaka`s account

After checking the Amazon link for both this one and the sequel, I think there's a bit a mix-up because the official tankoubon listed the prequel as a 6 chapters manga and the sequel as a 8 chapters manga (you can see the table of contents when clicking the preview on the kindle version).

Like the chapters with his childhood friend is actually in the sequel manga.

Also, it's weird to consider this one dropped while the sequel is complete (because, you see, it had a sequel after all).
