This chapter was a pain to work on -- to start with all the speech bubbles and on-page texts were hand-written, not typeset text as is usual in most other chapters. The written kanji are in a form of shorthand, nothing like the printed-text kanji non-Japanese students of Nihongo learn. To add to that there was at least one Chinese character that isn't in the Jouhou set of Japanese characters (the label on the chilled noodle tub lid), that cost me at least four hours of following false leads and dead ends to figure out.
The hand-written whiteboard on page 26 took about eight hours of decipherment and then I had to figure out what things like "Seat knock" actually meant and explain them at the end since they're a Japanese baseball term, not something most Americans would recognise even if they were baseball fans. All hail Google! Ditto for the onomatopoeia for pigeon noises. Po po popo.
They don't pay me enough for this job...
