Kusanagi-sensei Is Being Tested - Vol. 2 Ch. 171 - It's Different From What I Imagined, But It's Delicious

I'm not an alcohol expert, are those cheap/rough/not-really-sophisticated drinks?

It bothers me quite a bit that the other teacher isn't just fantasizing about Kusanagi, she's actively trying to push her fantasies onto the real one.

Thankfully Kusanagi is dense enough to ignore it.

@Richman It's like being asked about your favourite label of scotch and responding with Miller Genuine Draft, the implication being that Kusanagi's a workaday adult that doesn't church it up much once she's home.

@Richman
I can only speak for Asahi as well, but I believe they're all basically the equivalent of, say, Budweiser or Coors here in the States. Run-of-the-mill swill. Asahi's not bad, though.

My preferred vice: a good white, usually something German (Gewürztraminer or Riesling).

If this was any other series, Kusanagi would wake up next chapter naked in a hotel cuddling with the teacher after having drunk sex which she does not remember.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but thank god the focus is on [REDACTED] Seen that plot device too many times.

Edit: [REDACTED] because I was using a heavy term in a way which didn't actually apply and now I'm ashamed of myself.

@GrayBypasser

And I forgot to add my nuances again, damn it.

Yeah, I agree. The whole plot revolves precisely around Kusanagi trying to not react to the flirting of an underaged girl. But we lack a word for that in English, I think?

@Richman They're all beer. The "Ebisu" they mentioned is most likely Yebisu by Sapporo. They're all pretty standard beers as far as I'm aware, though Yebisu seems to get better ratings than the other two on English beer sites. The point here (to anyone wondering why this is important) isn't so much that the beers she likes are cheap, but rather that all of the drinks she prefers are beer. Just beer. Wine and cocktails with fancy liquor in them are seen as more refined drinks than beer, and the new teacher thinks that someone like Kusanagi should be refined, like she is in her fantasies. But the real Kusanagi has an unrefined drinking palate that consists solely of beer, and thus the new teacher's fantasies are being shattered little by little.
