I know if it's a bit late to ask, but I don't clearly grasp Maomao's circumstances. Is she a slave? The talks buying and lowering prices make it seems so. Is she still in debt to her pseudo grandma because why ask to lower the price of a courtesan?

@tgb089 This isn't directly about Maomao's personal circumstances. Her debt was already pretty much paid off in the process of hiring her as a maid. The things to note about this are that this tactician dude is talking about a past incident involving lowering a price that didn't apparently work out as planned, and the fact that Maomao has been getting the vibe that she knows somebody like the description of the tactician from somewhere already and doesn't like or want to run into that person. Anything more would basically be the things that have yet to be revealed.

@EmiYusa it said that the brothers reconciled, so that probably meant that the younger brother did end up sharing the secret with the other two, but because the younger brother had the actual skills and talent, he ended up more successful anyways.
