I'm stuck on thinking I'd just be plain uncomfortable, in Kyoko's place. I mean, it's one thing if I'm slowly sorting my feelings out, but this is plain manipulation. Like, "yeah, I've given you time until our graduation, but would you look at that, does it not make you jEaLoUs, huh, huuuuuh~?"
...yeah, I wouldn't feel secure one bit.

@Inori Sure there's mixed signals being thrown Kyouko's way. However, looking from Miku's perspective, she's already established to us in previous chapters that Kyouko is a quite a procrastinator and a fence-sitter. Setting up a time limit to start with gets Kyouko to go over her thoughts on their relationship and the inevitable change that will occur no matter which path she goes down. Miku then starts to get aggressive in order to stop Kyouko's procrastination and get into her head both her love for her and what she would miss out on if she decides not to pursue a romantic relationship.

Sure, this can be seen as rather manipulative, however Miku knows that if she does nothing, nothing will happen. She wants to know if their relationship will go further, or not progress, so she knows that she can move on.

The way sempai purposefully looked at Kyouko, I'm guessing she knows exactly what's going on and is helping Miku out. An obvious ploy to get Kyouko to stay on her toes instead of becoming lax about the whole thing. I'd say it's unfairly manipulative of Miku to do so, but then again, she hasn't exactly been hiding the fact that she's gunning for a "yes" from Kyouko since it all started and she's been aggressive about it ever since. She was up front a couple chapters ago that if there was no answer by graduation, it would all be over and she'd find someone new. Now she's giving Kyouko a small taste of what that would feel like before it's too late.

This chapter perfectly highlights just how bad a match these two are. They both clearly want different things out of the relationship, even if they're physically attracted to each other. No matter how many times Kyouko tells Miku not to joke around, Miku is practically making a conscious effort to ignore her feelings.

When Kyouko resolves to apologize for not being serious, like looking in a mirror, it just goes to show that what she wants is a serious relationship. She wants Miku to be serious, and that's the one thing Miku refuses to do.

Probably also worth pointing out that it's nigh certain that Miku has always been a hueg troll and Kyouko's plenty used to having her buttons pushed as a result; whence her default look of resigned acquiescence. It's just that now Miku's doing it with a very specific goal in mind and cheerfully leverages all her (clearly considerable) accumulated familiarity with what makes Kyouko tick towards that end.

She's apparently also sufficiently Genre Savvy to want to short-circuit all the usual uncertainty tropes and skip straight to pushing Kyouko towards recognising and admitting her own, rather obvious, interest.

So this is where the cake comes into play.

EDIT: Ok, since a lot of people are giving their thoughts about all of this, I'll try as well.

From an outsider's perspective, it would seem like Miku is just being manipulative and Kyoko is just there, being driven by Miku. But that's only from the outside. What's really happening is a girl in love with her childhood friend that wants her to change for the better, even if her way of doing so isn't "the best".

When I started reading this manga I was so weirded out. "I don't see love from Miku" I thought in that time. I consider love as (this is just part of it, not the concept as a whole) caring for each other and wishing the best for the other person.

Now that we got more backstory, it shows that Miku does love and care for Kyoko, but she's not being direct to her. Why is Miku not direct with Kyoko? Why is she always acting so pushy?

I personally believe Miku's taking control of Kyoko's life like if it was a car and she's trying to make the car crash so Kyoko takes responsibility and starts "driving" by herself.

Other comments already arrived to the same conclusion and my level of english won't allow me to explain my thoughts much more, so I'll leave it at that.

From this point onwards I'm really curious to see how this story unfolds.
