@zeroxjac He probably took damage but his HP is so high it displays as the equivalent of a slight bump.
Kinda like:
10.000 HP takes 100 Damage = looks like a small small scratch at best
1000 HP takes 100 Damage = Flesh Wound
110 HP takes 100 Damage = Blood and Screaming everywhere, Victims sees his Grandfather waving from the other side.
The Damage is the same but the % lost from Max HP make it look differently.

...Arguably, the "wisest" course of action is to befriend people of "authority and strength", which might actually get you something, rather than blow them off due to a """one time offense""". It can even be said that he can take advantage of her attempted-murder to gain favors and labor from her.
That's pretty much the best argument I could've thought of as a devil's advocate. Because other than that, truly, what the actual fuck. People can just blow each other's brains in public with no fear of recourse? This is an example of a written scene which the author probably thought would be funny or endearing (like how "tsunderes are cute for hitting the guy"), but ended up being anything but that.

As game designer (unfortunately unemployed) see the use of HP and the other game stats trigger me badly... like I wrote in my guide, in games the stats are used as variable for do calculations using their numerical values and move around math formulas... if you use them then you have to line to what is equal 1 HP and regulate yourself with that, since this work use ranks instead numbers than at least the author can tell us what each rank mean or at least explain the lowest... this half heartly works trigger me very badly
