I mean, calling it awakening doesn't make it have more value. Don't get me wrong, I like the story, but it's still one of the more predictable ones that kind of just follows certain tropes. It's simply *easier* to write a story with an "awakening" than to try to think up some intricate chain of actions that lead to such power in a more justified way.
