You know, I never noticed this before, but... did they fucking kill those dudes? They sure as hell don't have rubber bullets, and to make them fall off the horse straight back they'd have to be hit center mass, more or less.

Actually, yeah, it was. murder was still murder, but in smaller frontier settlements they didn't care that much, and if a malcontent got killed while trying to rob someone, oh well.
if killing people wasn't illegal, they wouldn't put out live bounties on them, they'd just all be assassination contracts. all the 'dead or alive' stuff is pretty much movies or just vigilantes

but my point is that in this manga, we've never actually seen Evans, Oakley, or any of the other 'good guys' (like pa) actually shoot someone. just guns. these guys weren't disarmed, tho, they were taken off their horses.
