The thing that makes this story is how much he sees himself in her. Despite their different situations in life, there are so many parallels in the struggles they've both had to face.

I know this is pointless but wouldn't it have been easier just to hire a master conservationist or jewelry restorer rather than the reopen an entire factory. I'm sure someone who can restore historical artifacts would have no trouble with this thing.
