@Sep10trion I have a feeling his skills and titles are OP, but only in the right circumstances, like shut-in... what if this ensures the holder only takes 50% damage from all sources, but only in his "home-base?"
@feha Considering he got it for free, he doesn't have room to complain in this instance. Yes, if I had to pay for it, I would have been fucking pissed... but he didn't, so all he has to do is figure out ways to minmax them. And even then... this doesn't truly go into the rule fudging that this world will probably have... how far would it go to define 'home-base?'
And even then, we have no idea what happens. The 'loner' skill gave him the beast taming/slaving owning skill at the cost of not being able to join up with others. Considering this is an isekai... would you WANT to join up with a vast majority of people you end up meeting anyways, considering how these go?
dudes got teleportation and gravity and bind? its not all that bad those are pretty broken! and temperture, you can do some insane stuff with that, its like having wind, fire, ice all in one.
@Kuroku Them being broken or not is vastly dependent on their limitations. No limitations? You might as well be a physical god. In practice, though, teleportation is often limited to warping to any city you've visited previously; pretty useful, but basically worthless in combat. Gravity could also be fairly worthless if all you can do is turn it on or off; you have to get insanely creative to make it useful (like getting an 80lb sledgehammer and making it weigh nothing until you hit someone) and then it can be further nerfed by making it anything less than instantaneous casting. Binding could be little more than a slightly useful utility spell if it's only as strong as normal white glue.
Sadly, it looks like this one goes the "MC has abilities that are first advertised as useless but turn out to be awesome"-route. I would rather see him managing with willpower and cleverness than with "bad" skills that are actually OP.
But well, it´s still too early for a real verdict.
@Nk9bjP4A These kinds of jokes never quite land for me since the lenses are literally magic. They would be plot relevantly garbage if they didn't clean themselves or come with cleaning products.
@MinecraftNoob No skills are ever "bad" unless the designer failed. Many games have fail skills because the design was off. The world of a god however should be a bit better designed than that. Not having useless skills is pretty basic after all.
The bad skills are just the ones that don't do things people value, like killing shit. Its basically heavy support stuff which does useful things but won't really help much on its own. Swordsmanship will always be useful to a hero, which is what you generally want to be.
The skills themselves are not going to be OP but the fact he has literally everything left in the shop will definitely be. I mean there are plenty of skills you would take in games if you could take 2 of them instead of 1. 2 weak powers will often be preferable to 1 strong one unless that one is 100% OP. If the system was done right the others would have messed up by not investigating or taking any of the utility abilities.
Seriously why would there ever be "bad" abilities offered? That would require an asshole god or something and at that point none of the skills could be good. Anyway the title should be "mediocre/utility skills but lots of em!".
I mean he does have cane combat. Thats probably like staff combat which is sweet. Likely better for drawing less attention.
