Looking for a manga

Hi all I'm looking for a manga I used to read way back when mangarock was still around. The premise was that a boy gets adopted by a witch and the witch teaches him magic. Later the witch gets murdered and the boy goes on a rampage with some type of (word?) Magic.. I also remember that any witches were persecuted/killed. thanks!
