Magazine search and info in title

Could we add a magazine field to a series info? The magazine name could link to a search with all other series published in that magazine. A magazine is pretty telling of what a series is going to be like, what kind of demographic it's targeting, what other series are similar to it, how often it is published in Japan, etc.

I disagree :) Author/tags is necessary info because it usually tells what to expect from series.

But publisher (magazine)? Nah, every magazine prints a wide range of series. Let's take WSJ. Only thing you can definitely tell is demogrphic of published series - shounen. Everything else is basicly unknown because it publish action, borderline porn, psyhological dramas and other genres.

So info like "published in WSJ" is pretty much useless IMO.

For example, an author who writes gei komi isn't likely to be in the same magazine as an author who writes regular yaoi. They are two styles of manga in the same genre with entirely different target demographics. Gay men and straight women, respectively. If we know what magazine they were published in we know much more about the style of the manga before we've even looked at the designs on the cover. Additionally, as far as my research shows, the last big gei komi magazine shuttered this year (Badi) meaning we'll have an easier time differentiating gei komi from yaoi.

I don't know. Some manga are published in more than one magazine, at least at different points in their life, and we're not really a database for the magazines themselves.

@Kanami-chan as a counter argument, I neither read raws nor know Japanese.

Magazine is about as interesting and informative as author or artist... Most people won't notice it, but it still says something about a series (boichi in Korean shoujo magazine vs boichi in wsj) and ties it to other ones in theme (nakama in wsj)

Why don't we rephrase this question as "is the time saved for people who actually do care greater than or equal to the time wasted for people who don't and have to deal with extra data to scroll past or maintain?" Remember that a page from a site that does have this information is seldom more than a click away.
