Don't know what Nodoka is talking about here. Cerberus has always been heavily associated with snakes, most likely because it's parents, Echidna and Typhon were at least part snake, as well as two of it's siblings, the Hydra and the Chimera. Originally, Cerberus was depicted as having 50 or 100 heads before later depictions settled on 3. Many later depictions said Cerberus had 3 dog heads and the rest were snake heads in order to explain the disparity. As a matter of fact, Cerberus is so heavily associated with snakes that a genus of snakes were named after him.
Orthrus usually has a single snake for a tail but that's about it.
