Mai Ball! - Vol. 16 Ch. 104.1 - Riria Konbaru's True Talents! (Part 1)

A single match that takes 20 chapter alone, and they cutting it into 2-3-4 parts as well. Genius.

Pretty sure it'll end up just like

The logic here would be simply "she lacks practice"... But we all know this (and any other) manga's logic: it lacks any. Something unexpected will pop up trying to awe us...

Let me guess: she's actually blind and playing based on the sounds the ball and the players make

I think Konbaro is trying to trick them, she may be doing these plays to distract the girls and when they start to drop their guard... boom she strikes.

I mean, she's either elongating the game so that they have an advantage or trying to get her tempo right (in which case she's still outmaneuvering everyone). Even if she's clearing out of bounds, her movements are already giving them trouble.

When Konbaru is playing so good that no one notices what she is doing, She is making some insanely good passes to the open spaces in their defense, sad thing is that there is not a single person in her team or Mai's team (or the comment section) noticing. ?

She'll probably just end up adjusting her game to the team's tempo or maybe Mai's team notice what is happening and try to close those spaces which will actually let other places open to make a really good play.

how do you propose they fit an entire match's worth of plays into a few chapters? Every play is multi-stage, and every player is moving around during every part. Honestly, I'm amazed the pacing is as good as it is, mostly soccer, minimal inner dialogue.

@Ovdose
She can see. At the end of the previous 'chapter' (10 page segment) her teammate says "look" and points, and konbaru follows the finger. Even if she could hear where she was pointing with manga powers, no one says "look" to a blind person, especially not a friend.

also, reminder that reika is an unparalleled genius who only started playing a few months ago, whereas konbaru's been playing, what, her whole life?

@Istvan90623
The manga started as a monthly serialization bu then got moved to a weekly magazine. The author split the chapter into several parts for the weekly release.
We've been getting the same amount as we used to

In before she's intentionally playing bad so the other team lets their guard down.
