reader interpretation. it could be that her face is actually smiling or she may still have a stoic expression but her coworkers know how to read her and hayase can't for the life of him. this series is pretty much a classic old school comedy- the straight man and the funny man dual act series.

Why would the mansion have precious works of arts like unique vases presented like that when the walking disaster, Kiichiro, wanders the halls every day? It doesn't make any sense. They should place the vases inside clear polycarbonate or bulletproof glass cases attached to the table/platform, which itself would be secured to the floor.
