Make user block even stronger.
A certain controversial thread started a few hours ago made me think of this. People who follow this forum will know what I'm talking about, but it's only important that moderators and developers do. I won't elaborate.
Right now, when I block a user, I still see their comments as "You can't see this comment because you've blocked [User Name].", right? Well, some people are finding some usernames offensive and instead of sticking my precious hand into that particular hornet's nest, here's a practical solution.
Make it so it shows instead, "You can't see this post because you've blocked this user".
Problem solved. Out of sight, out of mind. If you think User X is a bigot, or User W is an SJW, or User Z has a potty mouth, or whatever floats your boat, it will be possible to not only ignore their opinions, but their very existence. Their freedom of speech rests enshrined, and so does our freedom to ignore them. MDex will look more and more like the Christmas special of Black Mirror, but whatever.
Someone may argue, "Yeah, but what if I want to unblock this user just once to see that comment specifically? I won't know whom to unblock from my list if their name doesn't appear in their message."
Seriously, who ever unblocks users once they're blocked? The decision to block someone is pretty extreme in my opinion and I've got less than a dozen blocks, but once I do it, I don't ever look back. Seeing their names in a comment section of a series I follow won't make me a jot more curious.
But if that's a concern to someone, just add a clickable option in the message: "Show just this once." and that will solve it.
