Love this plot. It makes the Demon King out to be a more complicated character than he would appear, and it shows how crafty and cunning the Secretary is.

Also, you gotta admit that even though they have Bird legs coming out of their necks, sometimes they have a beak for an eye, and other miscellaneous features, they are pretty cute, in their own way.
