Don't actually hold adult cats like that. It's fine for kittens, but in adults it can apparently cause nerve damage.

Another "Dont do thing": Dont hold little kids' hands (like 1, 2 years old) with their arms outstrechtched. Their tendons and muscles are too underdeveloped. Worst case you discolcate the shoulder. Not a good move to already prevent your kid becomming a tennis or basketball pro when its just 1 year old.
