I wonder whether Natsuki Minami invited Hosaka to the barbecue this time as well just for Hosaka to decline again because it serves no purpose towards his goal of getting closer to Haruka (not knowing that Haruka will be there)?

@SasazukaIchimashi He doesn't seem that close to Hosaka. The two Minamis are sharing the barbecue event because Touma is visiting the other family all the time, so they do have a bond of a sort. In fact I can't recall anyone who would be a real friend to Hosaka. Everyone probably feels kind of put off by his pecularities. Hayami is often trying to mess with him back at school, but that's purely for her own amusement, not because they would be especially close, I'd say. They just share the volleyball background, so she has some kind of pretext to talk to him easily.

@Kaarme I'm just thinking of Minami-ke Tadaima episode 8 (the first half, probably based on a manga chapter but I don't know which one off the top of my head) where Natsuki offered Hosaka the same invitation, telling him that his sister's friend's family would also be there but not telling him that his sister's friend is Haruka's younger sister.

@SasazukaIchimashi Hmm... I had forgotten such a detail. In that case, I stand corrected. I do have to wonder if it was just an invitation for the sake of politeness.
