I just finished reading "Butter!!!"(https://mangadex.org/title/5559/butter), which I had thought would be more romance oriented than it actually was. Now I'm still left wanting to read a romance about two people who don't really fit in anywhere else, kind of like the first couple chapters of "Sankarea" (https://mangadex.org/title/116/sankarea), before Rea turns into a zombie, or "Ohayou, Ibarahime" (https://mangadex.org/title/15733/ohayou-ibarahime). Not like Kare Kano, where while they may both have hidden sides to their personalities, they're still reasonably popular, or ones where a school's idol takes inexplicable interest in the resident loner.

RaButa (it might appear to be the idol-type of story but it's not)

@Nako I think I remember reading that ages ago, the male lead was bald and near-sighted due to an accident, right? iirc the name was a cross between "love" (rabu) and "pig" (buta).

@OsseinMarrow yeah, that's the one. Too bad you already knew about it.

Hmm... Then, how about
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan
Oyasumi Punpun
Nineteen, Twenty-One
Bastard (webtoon. Might require the webtoon app if you want to keep reading)
Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de
My Boo (webtoon)
Kind of Confidential (webtoon)
Athena Complex (webtoon)
Super Secret (webtoon)
Bokura Ga Ita (while it kind of starts off as your normal romance, it sort of takes a different turn at the end of vol. 1 and it keeps going a bit dark. It's just one of my favorites that's why I'm listing it xD)
...?

@Nako I've seen and read a few of those,I might check out Bokura Ga Ita. Bastard is actually a favorite of mine, and Super Secret might have been if it ended differently.
