So does the mum know she’s not karou or what, I thought her mum was just a bit mentally deranged after he daughter died but... sorry if I’m being weird but I mean this whole manga is a bit of a mind fuck so...
 
@MrBump I think that the mom's delusional and really wants to believe Kaoru is Kaede, even if deep down she knows otherwise. What Chiaki was saying about telling her was more that Kaoru should confront her instead of indulging in her insanity, as it isn't healthy for either of them. However Chiaki's only just met Kaoru's mother so Kaoru was pissed that an outsider who doesn't know anything about what the family's been through has the audacity to tell them how to live their lives. Personally I think Chiaki's completely right; it would be far better for both of them in the long run if Kaoru got the mom to go to a therapist and deal with Kaede's death, instead of continuing this fantasy. But I think Kaoru will need to mature a lot before they can face their mother directly like that.
 
@mirewitch cheers for that a bit confused of what the situation was. I agree with you on that last statement , stopping this charade will take some time

I can understand Saotome's concern, but I feel Kaoru's anger even better... "seeing it once and then just easily blurting out something you thought I don't know?"

And, dunno with this story, but sometimes, you don't even know, maybe that person has tried to change the situation time and time again, trying this way and that way, yet everything still stay the same...

She's not wrong to be concerned and saying something out of it, really kind of her, just that it's said kinda tactlessly ><
