If these two are going to be antagonist then MC will just be able to 'cut' them with a single swing of a twig xD

More seriously, I do hope that he'll upgrade his twig to a sword sometime.... but if he doesn't like it he may as well search for the ultimate twig to beat up the bad guys !!
Only by then he may found a way to learn magic..
