IRL, I'd be slightly weirded out and kind of aghast if my kid's teacher offered to come over and cook with the implication that it was because I was clearly doing such a bad job of it. Heck, even if I was doing a bad job of it. XD
I don't know whether them being maybe a childhood friend I hadn't spoken to in a long time would make it less weird... or just push it over into the realm of the utterly surreal. :'p
