Anyway chick definitely has her own issues, I don’t know why but she reminds me of Misaki from welcome to the NHK. Maybe she has it rough, and she sees the father as someone worse off than her and in need of a savior (so her)

the daughter isolating herself from everyone... him getting a thing on a high school girl... or the high school girl showing so many signs she wants/likes him...
