the novel is pretty good if you don't like the short manga chapters


though the author slowed down IMMENSELY about 3 years ago, been very few chapters ever since. I don't think the story will ever end at the pace he's going, sadly. If you like Trash of the Count's Family or The Novel's Extra, you'll probably like the Death Flags novel too. (TCF is god-like, my favorite novel of all time hands down, and TNE starts off good and has some good moments, but is mostly dogshit after around chapter 100)

nah, cancel engagement is just extra result, what he want is support from Sumeragi territory so he could prepare to deal with last boss

since he mention in earlier chapter that if game MC don't defeat last boss an entire continent could fall to doom
