How is there no miko-proving test of any sort?!
All I'm getting so far from this story is the humans of this world are very stupid, their requirements for deciding a Miko was looks alone, no magic test, or anything else to confirm it, they decided, yup she looks cute so she must be the girl we are looking for.

Alice get away with being selfish for a while because again nobody want to get on her bad side in fear of miko power.
It's only when the mom get sick that people are sure she's not the miko, because those around the miko are blessed with robust health so the mom shouldn't collapse if Alice is the miko.
When I skipped to the future chapters, Alice was rescued by the princess, learned the wrong of her past and has been devoting herself to help the princess and to make up for the things she's done (yes yuri?)
It's only when the mom get sick that people are sure she's not the miko, because those around the miko are blessed with robust health so the mom shouldn't collapse if Alice is the miko.

I was so happy for a new chapter, especially when the beast people reacted to protect her, until I saw the sister. Ugh. . . what a brat. -___-; What's going to be even more annoying is how
all those damn idiotic adults are going to be bending over backwards to please her, right up to the point where even society starts collapsing around them before they even start to realize, "Hey maybe she's not the miko after all?"

there is a bit more to it then that. if I remember right the parents were the shitty ones in this situation and did not let others know about the second kid and took their favorite to the temple because of course she was the miko.
someone gave a breakdown so I don't know how accurate this is.
kids typically cant use magic so there is no real way to test her
there is no simple magic finding spell, just general directions, on top of not knowing if you can even really test the mikos power
I don't think the parents and that sibling 'trick' them for long, but it is long enough that finding the real one is hard, this one only got found because of a hunch.

The guy who could name a miko directly died a year or 2 before the twins were born ,and no one had developed/inherited/been gifted his ability yet. They performed a ritual to verify the Miko's location (IIRC there were signs that lead them to believe there was one in the country) but only got Village, age and gender. The info from the ritual/oracle can not be questioned (and it was right anyway)
Th twins were the only 2 in the village that met the criteria, and since the parents hiding the MC the priests only say her sister, so to them it has to be her.
Now how they reac afterwards to the numerous signs that Alice is NOT the miko is another things, the researcher is merely the first person they send away/disappear before there is a sign that they can not ignore.

uuuuUUUUUGH I'M SO SICK OF THE "EVERYONE LOVES THE OTHER ONE" BAIT AND SWITCH SHIT. "her twin sister, whose personality is bright and beautiful" –> immediately refuses to put in effort and study to be a miko. Yeah pull the other one, it's got bells on. You can't just tell us "The other kid is so bright and good and everyone loves them :)" and then never show them being remotely likable!
I was so interested to see her being overall a good kid, but when finding out she's not actually the miko she actually starts to question things and then see where the situation would go from there.
But no! Gotta go this freakin' overdone route! We've got to make it feel even more unfair to our protagonist, after all!!

when the Temple found proof that the sis was not the miko and discovered that there was a twin that the abandoned, they did not make the truth public and sent like 1 priest (who IIRC they had punished for saying Alice was not the miko, and might have been acting on a divine revelation) to find the real miko in secret.
