I've never seen the appeal of forced engagements.
Personally, I think reversing this would be of greater interest. After all, though I have not read ahead, or have any clue how it will end in terms of having examined the documentation, it's painfully, painfully obvious they're eventually *sigh* going to get along. For everyone who will read this,the "fun" will be watching the tedious process happen.
But what if it were reversed? What if they managed to convince the overbearing and backwoods parents that this is an awful idea? Bit by bit the parents realize they've made a dreadful mistake. Both tyrannized "engaged" couple members are finally given their leave of each other.
Now THERE's a story!

@Fujiwara_no_Sai Forced marriages are done for some sort of benefit, which is most commonly a monetary one. Although you and I don't see the appeal in them, human greed knows no bounds. If you can earn favor and or status by just marrying a person, then why woudn't a greedy person do it? He would think of it as a "business" instead of an intimate human bond. The idea you mentioned is done in many mangas, especially the ones from South Korea. I doubt it would take you more then 5 minutes of searching to find them. Although as a warning, they are VERY generic and boring, with the common cliche of "rich cold manipulatice boy" and "cute, pure, happy, beautiful girl".
