@Silvernius part of the problem is probably the divines being reckless and even incompetent. Even the goddess that processed the MC is incredibly reckless with equipping him with gear and blessings. The only reasonable person in the Divine realm seems to be the angelic handler for the MC.

plus the MC's no paragon of virtue himself, if I remember correctly he was chosen for his combat prowess not his heroic spirit. He runs more true neutral.
