Oh! My Prince! - Ch. 2

Little known fact, ancient Egyptions used to speak Korean. I know, I was shocked too

he knows hieroglyph duh. genius, remember.

also thats definitely the princess, right? like thats the cross dressing right?

Well, the first chapter did say that the MC "learned 8 different languages at the age of 8"; so I'd say that it's be safe to assume that by the time he became an adult, he learned even more languages.

@Iratana Reasonable, but I'd wager that alternate-universe ancient Egyptian isn't really a readily-learnable language. I'm pretty sure most of the phonetics of actual ancient Egyptian have been lost to time.

My theory is definitely the twins switched the same day the incident occurred so the “princess” who died was actually the prince? I mean, this isn’t labeled as a yaoi so... It’ll be interesting to see how this will develop! Thanks for the chapter 🥺❤️

@sweet-potato Im pretty sure that it was specified that he knows a lot of languages. Arabian is a pretty widespread language, odds are that he knows how to speak arabian.

@Ekfreet

They did not speak Arabic in ancient Egypt, they spoke Egyptian, and given that ancient Egypt spans millennia, the Egyptian of 3000 B.C.E is as different from the Egyptian of 1000 B.C.E. as Latin is to French — Forget not that Cleopatra lived closer to the current day than he lived to the construction of the great pyramid of Giza.

Even if one were to be transported to a mediæval European world where they would speak 1500s "Early Modern English", a contemporary speaker of English would have a very hard time understanding what they said.

And she's not even surprised to meet an Asian.

And corn is a south American crop that didn't exist in ancient Egypt.

Okay, let's say it's a parallel world (not the real past) where everyone speaks Korean and let's be done with that.

MC : This is a parallel universe

Comments : OMG such things did not exist in egypt back then! it must be a parallel universe!

Me : Facepalm
