At this point the author is basically forcing us into a situation where she's going to cheat on him. I'm sure Yano's sister is going to do something where she's like "please do me a favor and go to the field trip/camp thing with my brother!" and she'll get herself back into a contrived situation where she's alone with a boy that wants to do her.

It sounds like a guilt thing. He's tormented by the fact that he's robbing her of her teenage life, or at least that's what he thinks he's doing.
