I know the manga's aiming at teacher and student but gosh I sure wish both teachers would just get together and the kids would grow away from it

If a person that is writing a manga's opinion is that a relationship between a teacher and a student is harmful to the student because of the age or the power dynamic between the two, fine. But don't take 10 volumes to figure out that the love story you are trying to write is deviant. That kind of story is fine, but do it from the beginning so that there isn't a change in tone which makes it seem like the author doesn't know how the fuck he was going to end it.

Law of conservation of detail. Scenes only last as long as they're needed to to convey whatever dialogue/event/effect is planned and relevant. Which his why it might seem like they only talked for a few moments and got drunk very quickly, when in fact they actually talked for hours. In media there's simply not enough time/pages/panels to spend on extraneous detail like them being there for a long time. But it's safe to assume that they did in fact talk and drink for hours.
