Rin is probably the most prominent example people reading this would be familiar with, but there is plenty to go around. Here's the TV Tropes page on it (Rin is linked to from it at least twice since there were kind of multiple forms of media for her to show up in). I think the D&D ones are the best example on the page that I saw for similarity to Rin and this though, some are just literally flinging sharp gems at people to cause damage like arrows would.
