Nah, if her child is under 18 or 15. She might miss him.
But he is already 27 (now is 29).According to the brother age, their father remarried when he is 14, and also he said that he most time in dorm.
As I read many manga about dorm life, it seems like Japanese don't give a shit about missing someone since their children always stay in place that they can comeback to find anytime

If about them, I think they meet weekly or monthly. Since even Takaomi is fine, Ami will hard to not miss her mom. About their mom, I don't think she will miss and cry when thinking about them, since her personality seems very bright and energetic

@duongvuduc96 I guess we've read some very different ones. Most I've seen have the parents sending their college going kids "care packages" and expect them to visit on holidays.
