Otome Danshi ni Koisuru Otome - Vol. 4 Ch. 371 - I Didn't Mean It That Way

Yeah, I think the translation worked very well, even without knowing anything about the original, underlying Japanese. That is, even before reading the TN, I realised what the confusion was all about.

What was the original text? (Because going backwards from your translation to Japanese gives completely different results, so I'm curious now about how it could be misunderstood.)

"I won't pass my cold to you" can also mean "I won't make a move on you". The Japanese should really reform their language or something lmao

And I think the translation worked perfectly. The double meaning is still there entirely.

@ChristineGuinn
Yuki: 「うつすようなことはしないから」
Mayu: 「うつすようなこ…」

Puns are always hard to translate. Partly because the language is different but also because the cultures are different.

@Varler - Which is kinda why I asked about the original text. Good old Google gives me "I won't do something like that.", which IS rather ambiguous after Yuuki just asked her to stay. I may not read or speak much Japanese, but I know context means a lot sometimes in determining what something means.

(And yes, I know Google Translate isn't perfect.)
