Is it bad I actually like this what if scenario better than the actual story? Here, everything feels a lot more pressing and desperate, whereas in the real story she's a lot more relaxed.

Oh I really start to like it! The first few chapters seems too similar with the original. It's far more interesting to see how she'll make up for the previous behavior. Actually, I like this spin-off more than the original. There's less comedy here.

@pengy_z I agree. Even though I think both are going to have this problem, I really didn’t like how much she worried about the death flags in the original, considering that almost everyone that could cause her death were in love with her a long time before the end.

This is, in many ways, quite similar to the original because Bakarina is so stupid she can't really come up with any real plans to avoid the flags. In fact she can't even recognise if the flags still are there or not. So, much similarity is unavoidable. However, I appreciate how some side characters that had a minor role or didn't exist at all in the original are actually playing a role here. Of course people like Keith are totally different, so that helps as well. All in all I don't dislike this spin-off at all.

Hard mode seems... interesting. The main timeline was great already, but this one just has more spices, bring it to a higher taste.
The teacher seemed to be ploting something, or realized something.

@Awsim But in the original she's apparently a talented swordswoman. It's just that we never see her use/need one. She's probably ranked 3rd in swordfighting just behind Jeord and Keith.
