I don't mind them, and in some cases the End of Chapter memes are the main reason I even follow a series.

Come on they are great!!!!
Ending one chapter with a laugh its the best, I dont know why somebody will hate them.

I hope the person(s) who said (voted) they don't like them hit their pinky toe on a corner.

If it weren't for end of chapter memes, i don't know how i would endure reading "Living with my brother's wife".

Scanlators should be nothing more than monkeys on typewriters slaving away for my exclusive personal entertainment. Any trace of them finding any joy in their work should be stamped out and purged. One joke page at the end of each chapter in a volume is half a chapter's worth of lost time. That's an entire Mai Ball! chapter's worth of entertainment wasted every two volumes that I'm never going to get back.

The only objectively good joke credits were once in a blue moon at the end of Taruby's Ichinensei ni Nacchattara scanlations. This is fact. Everything else since then might as well be 16 post-credit pages of eye-bleedingly colored Naruto fanart. Except far more devoid of humor.

@sterven
Call the cops, I don't give a fuck.

What in god's name are "end of chapter memes"?

Spontaneously, I'd say that I don't like them, due to my distaste for memes, but of course it's hard to say for sure without knowing exactly what you're talking about.

they are good if they are obviously separated from the rest of the manga, spoiler free, and not gross

@Gian They can basically be summed up as a "gag page" at the end of a chapter, typically involving imagery/pages from the manga to make a joke.

Also, I feel that they can be pretty hit-or-miss so it's a bit of a toss up if I really like them or not. Just gonna say I don't care in the poll.

As a translator, they allow me to blow off some steam lol, whether I'm funny or not I don't care.
As a reader, I don't really care if they exist or not as long as they're at the end/kept to 1 page preferably, you can choose to skip em or read em you know? I just personally find it, idk, tacky? maybe when there's like, 3+ pages of "extras" in a chapter and that includes recruitment/credit pages (translation notes can get a pass if they're truly needed). I'm mostly a one man show so my credit pages are almost nonexistent but I personally try to combine any shitposting with my credits to not have a lot of junk in the chapter itself.

I also prefer an end card over lots of unnecessary notes for comedic commentary on the pages themselves as it distracts from the reading, though I am guilty of doing it myself from time to time and admittedly sometimes those kind of TL notes are hilarious. Just, keep it to a minimum lol

Now i want a poll about this.

If they're too crass, vulgar, or there are more memes than proper content, I don't like it. There, I said it. My bed is ready to destroy my little toes.

@Korsai I guess everything that's supposed to be funny is called a "meme" these days.

I don't mind them, as long as they don't clutter the chapter up too much. But I've yet to see one with more than one joke page and more often they're not, they're part of the credits page anyway.
