Q.E.D. iff - Vol. 5 Ch. 10 - The Imperfect Locked Room

Ok, this case is too deep here. Pretty much portrait of the real life. Nice, and thank you for the chapter.

If I'm disregarding the law, I'm gonna say in pure logic and emotions that this officer asshole deserves to die 6 times over.

I love how Touma nonchalantly said he know her because Inspector Mizuhara just called him.

Sad and kinda bittersweet ending.

I pity the prosecutor cuz from the looks of it, he is one of the involved who is fundamentally innocent in this whole scenario. He was just doing his job as prosecutor, the corrupt one who goes on making mess in things is that douche investigator.

Also, does this policewoman the same one from C.M.B.? The one who gave Shinra a cake instead of an antique as the compensation for his aid in her debut chapter?

This is very deep. I need some few time to think. But I agree that the police should not stay on police headquarter. This is troubling

Yeah, that Miyako guy deserved it.
Really.. the ending left some heavy feels in my heart.

oof that was heavy af. that miyako guy had it coming tho. idk if the prosecutor was actually innocent, because everyone kept saying there wasn't enough proof to arrest that lady's son, but he was arrested anyway and he was going to go to trial... so like, the prosecutor WAS involved?? they're the ones that say "there's no case" or "yeah let's go through with it" right... idk. HEAVY

thank you very much for the update!

Court in Japan is actually very heavily prosecution-weighted. Once you're arrested by the police, it's assumed the cop had done their job and you're guilty. That's actually referenced in Phoenix Wright on why Phoenix had to do all the stuff to convince the court that his client isn't guilty, and there's also a Japanese tv series about a lawyer who specializes in overturning guilty verdicts, who almost literally do stuff Phoenix Wright does, investigating the actual crime and gathering evidences and the like, which is actually kinda weird because Japan also has law against admitting you're guilty to get lower sentence.

Btw, this is also the actual reason why lawyers are around. Lawyer's job is supposed to be making sure that the investigation is done properly.

all because of the "fraud" expense textbooks..., and the the killer of the girl fraudster probably expected the case to be unsolvable, or to be arrested instead of her son....

@Fri unfortunately, lawyers cannot be present during interrogations. And even though you have the right to remain silent, you must still go through stressful interrogations where some forms of coercion may take place.

Another thing is that initial detention can be extended up to 23 days IIRC and the stigma of being "arrested" by the police may spell the end of your career / social life.

I liked page 43 the most. Basically, "WOAH, ARE YOU SHERLOCK HOLMES?" "Uh, I was just told you'd be coming here...."

I love a good revenge story. Real life Japanese police and prosecutors are scumbags too.
