Only one word for rain? Please. Sprinkle, shower, storm, drizzle, downpour. Not to mention colloquialisms like "frog-strangler" and "gullywasher".
Now it's true that we don't have a single word that would mean the summer rain, or spring rain, though "shower" could connotate spring rain due to the rhyme about April showers bringing May flowers.
