does the harem tag differentiate between actual harems and this?

At the very least, I can bear reading unwanted harem. Running out of fantasy and/or sci-fi manga that focuses on the story over romance.

no idea, but

from what I've seen, usually the victim of an "unwanted" harem puts up resistance in name only

The harem genre tag has a description that's copied from Anime-Planet.

A harem includes three or more characters who potentially show romantic interest in a male protagonist. The sex, gender, or orientation of the harem members is irrelevant as long as they exclusively, or at least primarily, are vying for the affections of the same individual - who may or may not reciprocate towards one, several, or none of these romantic rivals. (Source: Anime-Planet)

Looks to me that it doesn't matter if the male protagonist actually wants a harem or hate'm.

Hmm.. Is there a difference between wanted and unwanted harems when it comes to looking for harem in general? I don’t think so.

But I feel you.

I wish there was a way to differentiate those two as I prefer unwanted harems but ones that focus on romance over story. Or rather the whole story focuses on the romance lol.

”or see them as an obstacle between him and the girl he truly likes”
Quoting this sentence from that site.

I dig through this site looking for this kind of harems by asking in the comment sections of what kind of harem it is.

Luckily someone responds. So I guess you could try that.
