I know that the current rule is that if a scan group is defunct, we need to wait six months before uploading their works on the system (to make sure they are actually defunct). Obviously, Mangastream, was an instance of this. However, how do semi-defunct groups work?
For what I mean, as examples:
* Jaiminis Box recently removed all but four of the series they translate from their website. Even though the group is still ongoing, would uploading the scans they deleted here be kosher?
* For some Shounen Jump series, Viz translated the titles on MangaPlus but never uploaded them onto their own website. For instance, Hinomaru Sumo, Teenage Renaissance David, The Comiq, and others were released by Viz in Shounen Jump or MangaPlus, but currently have no official method of reading any chapters released through the now-defunct Shounen Jump magazine or chapters which appeared on MangaPlus but expired. Could those be uploaded, or do they toe the line of legality?
