- plans to rip-off a battle from ancient history
- opponent leader preemptively approaches your camp for maximum foil of said strategy

Well, that's "realism" for ya.

Getting Goblin Slayer Abridged vibes from the first page, Team Goblin Slayer vs the Filthy, Lying, Giant Gobin (Ogre).

I never understood why people choose to go through the canyon when they can just go up top.

You'd think the necromancer would have some limits. Now it looks like the geezer could conquer the whole world alone, simply by creating new undead thralls endlessly.

"Realist/Smart" Demon King.

Proceeds to mouth off the misconstrued bs battle of Thermopylae of only "300 Spartans", ignoring the thousands of other Greeks.

Doesn't feel that smart anymore.

that 300 is not correct though. there are other greeks participate in that battle. sure the number is still outnumbered by persian but it is still more than 300.

realist my ass

@glscarves he’s not a historian, just a pragmatic and mildly smart guy. It’s a common myth to get wrong if you aren’t a history buff. At least Astaroth’s smart enough to set up a bottleneck ambush properly, but it seems he didn’t actually take high ground of the valley before Shartal did, which is confusing.

@Firemorfox
My thoughts exactly. If he wanted maximum advantage then why not station some archers/mages/magic stones slingers at the top both sides?
