Well Kong finally went too far and took MC not seriously enough. Surprised he survived 70 chapters. Is it me or does it seem all the antagonists despite all their learning and discipline act like musclebrained idiots who can't read the room, think their position allows them to bully anyone they want, and are convinced MC must have conned someone rather than have skill or merits despite all evidence shown before.
As for Yu Yao she should stop hiding behind others and tell MC her feelings for him herself in person. Her father was a bad idea because MC only sees him as giving his daughter to whoever has great prospects regardless of her feelings with the blind hope that love will develop. That and was foolish enough to defend Kong's foolishness for political reasons. After all, Yao never told MC she has any feelings for him other than as a classmate and MC doesn't seem to be anymore a mind reader than the rest of us.
