He probably received alien power too. My guess is that the aliens came down to seek some suitable individuals, one of them being the bully head honcho while the other being the MC. However since he was a p*ssy (let's just state the fact here), he was deemed unsuitable until he made up his mind and showed some real conviction.

It would explain why bully guy was insisting on knowing whether MC made a miraculous revival or not because it was the same for him...
