Ripe When the Flowers Bloom - Ch. 20

I wonder about the "erasing his memories and locking him up in the garden" ... does that mean creating false memories for him to feel compelled to stay in the garden or literally just locking him up where he has to take care of tbe garden... it just sounds weird to me. Not locking him up in the mansion but the garden specifically

Considering that his flowers taste like that because of the care he puts into them (which is born from his life experience), wouldn't erasing his memories be counterproductive?
