I don’t like this cliche (if it can be called that) cause while obviously you don’t want to spoil people of importance not giving them a choice in matters and proceeding to deliberately give them something against their expectations would, in my eyes anyway, breed ill will. Then again the mc seems so disinterested with everything else that the governor is probably like “all according to plan”
