Sanctuary - Vol. 13 Ch. 99 - The Same Dream

Even an ideology of "no ideologies" is itself an ideology. Plus there are no doubt countless variations of what "no ideologies" looks like and how far they go, etc. Ultimately, while these kinds of ideas are reflective of real positions that people (especially politicians) take, I think the author misses that they are merely tools to topple other ideologies.

One side preaches "no ideology" or "equality" or some such only until they have taken power, and then it is a different story.

This story has been exciting, has presented some interesting ideas and situations, but it's philosophy and sociology are unfortunately rather inconsistent and at times overly simplistic. The values that Hojo and Asami presented early on do not entirely match up with their values by the end of the story, and it is not due to some development driven by events in the story. In fact they are presented as the ideals that they have always had, but I think close reading will show they were not quite so.
