I heard that this isn't as good as the original Pet Shop of Horrors, but from what I've read years ago, it's not that bad in its own right. Thanks for uploading here, because I haven't been able to find a physical copy of this for forever, so I never finished it
EDIT: I just finished rereading it and... yeah, it really is pretty different from the original, but similar enough that if you were interested in the original premise, you won't be disappointed. Rather than being the cause of major events, the pets seem to take a more passive role as observers or catalysts this time. Definitely not a bad manga, just different. Whether it's better or worse is up to personal preference. I prefer the prequel in terms of horror and plot twists, but I'm more invested in the overall setting and side characters here than I was in the original. What's his face Shanghai mafia guy fills the space Leon left pretty well, despite what others may say. I hope that they meet someday and bond over talking massive shit about Count D. Anyone know what happens in the second half of the series? Or even better, can someone pick this up? Wink wink wonk

I'm not really a sharp person to compare between two series, is prequel better than sequel or something like that. I can see slightly different but I don't think it turned out to be that bad. It is applied for this too.
If I remember correctly, the 2nd sequel from Shin PoH still ongoing too.

Ruthless Nights is now translating this. The official English translation (which I own) stopped several volumes BEFORE the end (I own all three complete Japanese series manga in hardcopy, thank you JAUCE!) There is also a prequel spinoff focusing on Grandpa D called "Passage Hen.". AFAIK no one is translating it, but Ruthless Nights has been mulling it over (please do!)
I'm ok with messaged questions about PSOH as I own the whole thing in Japanese + all official English releases... I love mythical animals. ^^ Pon-chan is the best character tho. Raccoons for the win, they are chubby little bandits. :) I want a "Pon-chan's Magical Adventures" spinoff with just her in it.

sigh i don't know the mafia guy just...he didn't cut it for me. he felt stale he barely felt any different at the end than when he started. leon from the prequel on the other hand was full of life and when chris was introduced he only got better. the count and him really bounced off each other very well.
